Since its initial launch in early 2005, YouTube has really taken over the multimedia aspect of the web. With over 100 million users each month, equating to 1/5 of the world’s internet users, it is clear that YouTube is the place to broadcast your content to an already-established audience.

They’ve recently launched a new online video editor that allows any YouTube user to create mashups and montages of their existing videos. In this article, I’ll be detailing the process of how to use this, as well as voicing my opinions on the whole process in general.

It may be for work, business or education; it is now very common for people to stay away from their home for extended periods of time. If you are one such person, where will you meet and mingle with your friends or family? On an instant messenger platform like Yahoo or web conferencing services like Webex? If your answer is the former, you need to come to terms with web 2.0 and if the answer is latter, you have way too much money in your hands.

Now, if only there was an app that can handle voice, video & IM chat, sprinkled with a tinge of entertainment and games! Well, there is one and it goes by the name 6rounds. So how good is it? We’ll find out after the jump.

JibJab has taken Ecards to a whole new humor and entertainment level, giving them flair and creativeness you won’t find elsewhere. I typically stay away from sending Ecards and go with the traditional card in the mail, but my next one will most certainly be sent from JibJab.

JibJab doesn’t just have Ecards though. They offer everyday fun videos of all sorts, which can star you and/or your friends. We’ll take a quick look at how to create a hilarious Star Wars video, featuring four of your favorite people.

Wouldn’t it be nice to easily be able to collect and manage your videos and video playlists in a central location? Or easily customize video player skins with a few clicks? Embedding video players and playlists can be a little tricky, especially for those who aren’t familiar with it. VP Factory is making it drop-dead simple though, even for people who want to host videos themselves.

I’ll take a look at Video Player (VP) Factory and their offerings, as well as walk through a screencast preview of the app.

We come across a boat load of images every single day. In this social age, we share images of friends, happy moments, anniversaries, karaokes, pet hamsters, etc. via email or social networking sites. However awesome or how many images there may be, the standard form of consumption is click and view. That’s too many clickety clicks everyday. Is there a fun way to share and view images?

Team Animoto says Yes. Animoto team has a very nice intro video briefing what to expect from the service. The video runs for just 60 seconds and the visuals are stunning. Let’s see if the service also lives up to the awesomeness of the intro. video.

Over the first couple of weeks here at Web.AppStorm, we’ve focused quite a bit on (micro)blogging and the tools available. Another very popular way to share your thoughts and talents is with video.
