Whether you’re a hardcore gamer or not, there’s always a new and exciting game in development that when you hear about it, you’re eager to play. This is the case with Quake Live and while it’s not necessarily new, I think the game speaks for itself in terms of the wow factor.

Developed by one of the world’s top game developers, id Software, the pioneers of the great Quake series, comes Quake Live – a great first-person shooter game that can be played without leaving the web browser. See what I’m raving on about inside the article.

Last night (September 8th, 2010) at 7pm EST, Envato held a Community Meetup in Chicago, IL. One of our awesome staff had the brilliant idea of streaming the event live for those who may not have been able to make it. However, the stream was also recorded so if you missed the live action you can still check out the fun and get a chance to see Envato staff such as our CEO, Collis, marketplace and tuts+ site managers, as well as myself.

One of the wonderful side effects of the internet is enhanced connectivity over ever increasing distances. A great example of this is the newly setup wireless connection for NASA astronauts. One thing you’ll notice with the web is the constant push for information — now. Twitter was a big step forward in this area, as was live video streaming with sites like Ustream.tv.

Although it’s been around for awhile, over the last year or two live blogging is being used much more frequently. Live blogging is closely related to Twitter, except a small step further. We won’t get into the technology behind it but if you want to start live blogging, here’s how to do just that.

Many people are particular about the state of their computer when logging on or booting up. They take the time to set certain applications to start at log in or for various application windows to be placed just so. The idea is to have your machine set up in the exact manner that helps you to do whatever it is that you need to do.

But what about the browser? With the focus on cloud computing and web applications, for many people, the browser start page is now the more important item to have set properly so as to meet your needs.
