Invoicing apps are one of the most popular web app categories. Ranging from free options like PayPal Invoices and Invoice Bubble to paid options like Billings Pro and Blinksale, there’s invoicing options for every budget, style, and need.

If you’re a freelancer, or run a design agency, chances are you’ll have to create invoices as a regular part of your business. If you have a standard salary job, though, invoicing apps might not be as interesting as you won’t need to use them very often. Perhaps you’ll have to create an invoice for one-off jobs, but you won’t need a dedicated invoice app every day.

That’s why we’re curious how much our readers use invoicing apps. Do you create invoices regularly, or would you hardly ever need to even think about making an invoice? If you use an invoice app, we’d love to hear about your favorite app and why you use it in the comments below!

Anyone doing business with clients should be familiar with the dreaded invoice. Though they signify that you’re going to be paid at some point in the near future, something you would think would be a a good thing, if you have to deal with quite a few of them on a regular basis, you begin to see them in a very different light. I have no quibbles with invoices, per se, but I must admit that they can be a major headache to compile.

Luckily, we’re in 2012. With web apps proving to be going as strong as ever, this annoying task of creating invoices is made ever-so-bearable through dedicated web apps. One such app is Invoicebus.

In this Quick Look, we’re highlighting Invoicebus. The developer describes Invoicebus as a brand new app for creating, managing and sending invoices online, with less effort, but more focus on purpose.

It’s handcrafted for web developers, designers and writers who do most of their job by themselves and who share the vision exposed in the 12 principles in our manifesto.

Our ultimate goal: 100% happy customers who invoice and smile all at the same time.

Project management can be a pain. It can also be something you look forward to. I’m a firm believer in the notion that if one has the right tools, a job is only as hard as you allow it to be. This can be the case for a lot of people when managing projects. Of course, there is the painstaking task of keeping track of just what needs to be done but if you’ve got a good task manager, why should this be a problem?

Bunker is an app that sets out to be a perfect solution for freelancers and small organisations alike and tackles the often distracting problem of getting stuff organised. Let’s take a look to see if it’s a good enough project manager to make you look forward to using it.

Invoicing is a fact of any freelancer’s life. With all of the “glamour” that comes from being self-employed and working with companies on a freelance basis comes the joy that is invoicing, often involving tracking time and logging it carefully.

T:metrack (which, for the sake of my fingers, is going to become Timetrack for this review) is an invoicing solution designed to help you focus less on your invoicing and more on creating excellent stuff.

Our contest is now closed, and we’ve sent emails to our 5 lucky winners! Congrats to everyone who won. Thanks for entering, and stay tuned for our next giveaways in the future!

The world of web apps is over-saturated with project management apps. It often seems like the only new apps you hear about are new project management, time tracking, or invoicing apps. There’s only so many ways you can design an app for the same purpose, and so many project managers look like they were copied right from 37signals playbook. Then, the features different project management tools include vary widely, and they’re often designed more for large teams than freelancers.

Solo is a fresh new entry into the project management field that uses a drastically different approach. It’s a fully unique design, with modern, beautiful typography and charts that make the important parts of your work stand out. Plus, it’s designed from the ground-up for freelancers, so you won’t feel out of place working without other employees. Keep reading to see our review of Solo, and get a chance to win one of 5 year subscriptions for Solo!
