Running a small business is no small feat, and it helps to have the right tools handy to help keep things running smoothly, whether it’s internal communication, managing projects, or staying on top of finances. There are scores of apps out there to tackle these challenges, but wouldn’t it be nice to have everything in one place, so you don’t have to scurry from one tab to another to get things done?

Cashboard might be the answer you’ve been looking for — it packs a ton of functionality into a single app so you can do all of the above with ease, while allowing your employees to access and share data and giving you an overview of how your company is doing. Let’s take a look at what it has to offer and whether it’s the right fit for your outfit.

There are so many invoicing apps floating around. It would be absolutely fabulous if people only have to create invoices and get paid all the time. But things are more complicated than that. To start with, you will need to find a viable lead and convince him/her that your prices are actually quite affordable.

Ideally, the process of closing a deal starts with a well documented quote. Pricetag is a web app for creating, quotes, RFP, proposals and bid pricing documents. The new year is coming up quickly, and if you’re a freelancer, you’re likely starting to think of how your income looked in 2011 and how you can increase it in 2012. Hey, even if you’re working a standard 9-5 job, you’re likely thinking of ways you could do some extra work in the evenings or on weekends. You can only be around so much Envato stuff before you start getting an itch to create your own products.

ClientBiller is an app that might help you in that pursuit. It’s a new invoicing app that helps you stay on top of the whole process from sending out estimate to billing your clients to actually getting paid. It’s currently in  beta, but already shows promise as a great tool to keep up with your team’s whole billing and invoicing solution.

ClientBiller has a number of great plans priced for every budget and team, but we’ve got something even better. We’ve got an exclusive giveaway of 500 account for free. Just signup for a new account with the link below, and you can get any ClientBiller account for free for 6 months.

When it comes to being a web worker, there are a few tools that everyone needs. Email, a calendar of some sort and, if you want to get paid, a way to bill your clients. And as the functionality of the web improves, more people are turning to web based tools to meet these needs.

As for getting paid, sending invoices is not a task that is endeared by all — quite the contrary. Spend a little time with remote workers or freelancers and you’ll find that a lot of people dread this aspect of working for yourself or running your own team.

There are a few reasons why this task can be such a chore. Choosing or creating a nice looking invoice is not an easy task, nor is following up with clients who are slow to pay. The entire process of totaling costs, prepping the invoice and then communicating with the client can be extremely time consuming.

And that’s where Ballpark comes in.
