5 Applications to Take the Pain Out of Organizing Meetings

Time is of the essence. At least, it is when you work for yourself. Every self employed freelancer dreads wasting it and yet there seem to be so many niggling tasks that suck it away. Arranging meetings with clients, team mates, or other freelancers can be one of these tasks that simply takes longer than it should.

And time has been on my mind of late. So yesterday I looked at how to use Setster to take the pain out of organizing appointments with clients. Today, let’s look at 5 web apps that are intended to make meeting organizing and calendar management more efficient.

TimeBridge

Timebridge

Timebridge

This app is designed to make arranging a meeting easier by getting you to specify five potential dates and times and letting the attendees decide which works best for them. It also offers free teleconferencing and the paid version offers web conferencing.

As well, TimeBridge will sync with Outlook, iCal, and Google Calendar and offers an iPhone app.

Along the same premise, Doodle allows you to create a poll. Once all the recipients have voted, you choose the date and time. It also features the ability to sync with all the common calendar applications.

Tungle

The third option today is Tungle. Again, this option works with Outlook, iCal, Google Calendar and Entourage. It focuses on creating group events from the polling process and allowing you to publish your availability (free/busy time).

It does all this by syncing your existing calendar with the Tungle interface. An iPhone app is also available.

A similar simple service, WhenIsGood offers the same concept — you suggest times and allow recipients to choose the best for them. But this service works without even having to sign up. YOu can browse to the page and just start planning.

If you should so, you can sign up and access additional functions. There are also a couple of paid plans — a Premium option and a Brandable option.

Calgoo Hub

Calgoo Hub

Calgoo offers a variety of calendar services. They have a free web calendar, a service to sync your desktop calendar with the web , and then there is the Calgoo Hub. Similar to Tungle, Calgoo Hub is designed to sync with your existing calendar and make calendar sharing and scheduling events more effecient.
