Love it or hate it, Facebook is one great social network for individuals and businesses alike. With more active members (recently reaching 500 million) than the population of some countries, it’s easily one of the best places for marketers and fans.

After taking a look through tons of great Facebook fan pages we compiled 35 of our favorite and most inspiring. Have a look and share yours!

Great collection but the majority of these pages are not going to be compliant when the 520 pixel width limit is rolled out soon ( http://ow.ly/2nMmx ). I am most impressed with the Pages that made your list without the extra real estate for eye catching visuals. Thanks for compiling the list and look forward to future updates.

The question is…. how does one make a fanpage like these? I’m not talking about the user interface. I’m talking about just the basic step by step to creating a fanpage. I tried to create a fanpage for my business, but it was just linked to my personal page. I know that Coke or Skittles pages aren’t connected to somebody’s personal pages.

  Create a business profile. Then from that profile, create a fanpage..
  Then add your personal page as admin. After doing that you`ll be able to switch to the fan page`s name when posting, liking or commenting

Thanks for the list!! I think most of them are really good fan pages but a couple, particularly the Adidas one, are a bit over the top and kind of losing the perspective on why one would have a Fan page on facebook. Their fan page is almost a microsite and leaves little interaction with the users which in the end is the point of having a facebook page.

I do applaud brands that have cool images and content on their pages, but I think there has to be a line drawn between what the pages are becoming and having a microsite up.

  I think you’re right – interaction is a key component in the fan page design and implementation. I didn’t see the interactions you mentioned in your post.
  You might consider a few things that would work out better for you…
  
  a) change your default landing page from your ‘Wall’ to ‘Born Events Live’ – it’s far more compelling for first time visitors
  b) for the videos page let the visitor know – or entice them – that they need to first ‘like’ the page to view the videos.

These are great. On our page which we’re just starting out on, we have a “landing page” like these, which we created with FBML. But ours still has the image, menus, information and likes ber down the left hand side. How do we create a full width landing page?

I’ll be honest, the best fan page I’ve seen is this Christmas one – http://www.facebook.com/xmascarols such a warming and fun little fan page with lots to do on it. Perhaps it’s just not well known enough to make the cut on this site!

Cool! I love the list of best facebook page here. I personally think that a simple facebook page without fancy configurations can be cool as well. “Less is More”.

It’s all about making full use of the existing FB new template and photo thumbnails, and making it REALLY easy for visitors to know what the message is on first glance. Like, ka-POW!

I’ve seen a few examples. And I stumbled one just now. It’s for Easter 2011.

Great examples of how FB can be used to engage a large audience. Now a question forall you internet /social media experts out there: how can a small boutique travel agency (my company) use FB fanpages?   Absolutely incredible! Grea use of…everything! Graphics, animation, music (although technically there may be some DMC issues) but overall – incredible. Very nice work.

I’d be curious to know about the hard data–how much these pages cost to build and what the ROI was. How well did they convert, on a larger scale? Great design is, well, great, but without the analytics behind it it’s difficult to track whether or not it paid off. Facebook’s Insights are pretty useful on FB itself, but not necessarily on the business’ website itself.
