I’ve always wanted to try Wufoo’s free account, but every time I click on their Sign Up button it shows me their paid plans. I’m guessing they don’t offer the free account to non-US users. :(

    • http://techinch.com/ Matthew Guay

Yes, unfortunately that’s the case. As far as I know, they only offer their free account to people in the US. I think if you already had a free account, though, you could still use it when you were overseas. But as it often works out, those of us that are outside the US end up loosing out on stuff like that ;(

    • http://nsah.de Nils

I’m from Germany and last week I signed up at the Wufoo free plan. Therefore you can get the free plan outside US. I would try to write an email to the wufoo support and ask for the free plan.

    • http://www.libelcom.com/ Lia Belle

I am from the Netherlands and I have Wufoo’s free account. Just go to thier website, click on (free) Sign Up button and when it shows their paid plan just click on their (free) Sign Up button again (on the right) and you’re ready to start wuffo-ing:-)

      Goog luck!

  • http://www.ronenbekerman.com Ronen Bekerman

Nice roundup! I use both Polldaddy and wufoo. Polldaddy mostly for the rating system and wufoo for forms and such… I been wanting to do a survey with it too but you really should check the limits those services have in each price plan – specifically, the response / entries limit per month if any!

One app that is missing here is KISSinsights – I use it now and it is by far the fastest and easiest one I used to get a survey live on my blog and get feedback fast too. Its not good for long surveys… rather short 1-3 questions – but it integrates in your site nicely and people do respond to it and you can do a set of them over a period of time. It is a little to high on the price – but you get no limits on responses or surveys, so that is cool.

For all of you using wordpress for your site i recommend to check Gravity Forms. You can create great surveys with it in version 1.5 and it is hosted inside your wordpress admin. The UI is not as slick as the other dedicated options – but you pay once and you are limited only by your hosting plan, so you can get unlimited entries / forms / surveys / etc…

    Hope this helps :-)

In my experience, people hate filling forms in – online or offline. They just want to tell you how they feel and move on. We use a really simple new app by Customer Thermometer http://www.customerthermometer.com to check how our customers are feeling.

I’ll have to tell you what, I’ve used AcePolls and PollDaddy, but nothing is as good as Wepolls. Their site is: http://www.wepolls.com

They’re a social polling network, so voters have avatars, can add options to the poll, and you get more traffic because traffic is coming to your site from their network.

I’m looking for a tool to use for employee performance reviews. MoboSurvey looks pretty good, but would like a tool that allows me to upload questions from a Word or Excel doc. Qualtrics is the only one I can find, and it’s too expensive @ $2,500-$5,000/yr.

  • Louise

Robyn, http://www.mobosurvey.com is pretty cool, especially how great it looks on a computer and an iPhone. I only have those 2 devices but they do say they support most if not all internet capable devices. Lucky for me, I don’t need to upload any questions from any files. The pricing is great for the service as I’m trying it out with a free account right now.

  • Tom G

Without a doubt http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk is the best survey software.

I have used them countless times and it always exceeds my expectations. User friendly, helpful support team and great prices.

  • M

Any suggestions for (ideally free) non-web survey apps? I won’t have internet and need the results to save directly to the device. And I need it to support other languages (Chinese).

  • Tom G

The problem I have with the majority of this list, is that they are US based companies.

Apparently I’m not the first person to comment here about problems with being a non-US users either!

The two issues I have always had with US companies, is that their data protection laws are different and the time zone difference makes it customer support difficult.

I now use http://www.smart-survey.co.uk for my surveys. They are UK based, which on it’s own, answers the issues I had with previous American equivalents. This means that they comply with the Data Protection Act, and I can speak to someone over the phone.

I would seriously recommend this software to anyone within the EU, well anyone in general, as it is so easy to use and so professional. Superb!

There’s a new real-time app out from Caretotell that may be recommended for kiosk solutions. https://www.caretotell.com/ipad-survey-app/

Features that I care about includes:
    - multi-lingual surveys
    - advanced question logic (if A is less than 4, then go to C, etc.)
    - offline mode

Although I have not tried all the apps in this list, I’m intimately familiar with this one and can vouch for it ;)

Additional features to the online tools include: offline mode, take pictures, track GPS, collect digital signature…

By the way, we are from the Datafield (data-field.com) survey app !
