Christmas Giveaway Day 16: Daytum

As the year comes to an end, many of us start to dwell on what we’ve accomplished over the past twelve months and what we’d like to do in the next twelve. And for many, there is also a twinge of guilt and regret over what we didn’t do — all those resolutions and goals from last December that went unmet.

That’s where self awareness comes in — and today’s prize giveaway enables you to become just that. More self aware.

Update: Thanks for your comments yesterday everyone — and all the best with your goals and resolutions for 2010. These three winners will get to track theirs with Daytum:

  • Andrew Burgess
  • Syphadius
  • Benjamin

Enjoy Daytum guys. And keep coming back everyone!

About Daytum

If the first half of this decade was all about self publishing and sharing yourself with the digital world — blogging — then the second half was more about habits and reflection. How much information are we creating and consuming? How much can we handle? Where is our time being spent?

Daytum is a tool that was created to help you answer those questions.

daytum

Getting data into Daytum is easy with its multiple interfaces.

If there’s one thing I’ve finally learned in my 34 years on this planet, it’s that you can’t make changes without knowing. And so personal accounting is vital in all areas where you want to improve.

Our Look/Review at Daytum

I reviewed Daytum earlier in the year and the summary results were as follows:

If you are interested in identifying patterns in your life or documenting your life in general, give Daytum a good long look. As I stated above, it can be a little hard to get started. But once you know where you want to go, it’s simply a matter of beginning with the basics.

Daytum is a helpful tool that enables you to easily start accounting (tracking or logging) the data that will help you get the information you need to gauge where you need to improve.

How to Enter

We’ve got 3 Pro memberships to give out today. And since it’s that time of year anyways, leave a comment and share one resolution or goal you have for 2010 — and how Daytum could help you achieve it. The winners will be announced at the end of the day!

And a big congratulations to our winners from Day 15 — enjoy Harvest.

And Over at Mac.AppStorm: Rapidweaver

Don’t forget to check out what’s going on over at Mac.AppStorm! Today they’re giving away a few copies of Rapidweaver.

The visual route for designing a website, commonly called “What You See Is What You Get” (WYSIWYG), aims to make designing a website a remarkably simple process. RapidWeaver is the perfect tool to complement this approach, and draws many similarities with Apple’s iWeb. Although similar, it goes further in many areas to offer a fairly powerful tool for website design. Over 40 themes, and some useful plugins, make it a solid tool for designing a personal site.

Come Back for Day 17

It doesn’t stop here. The giving continues each day until our grand finale on the 24th. Tune in each day for the newest prize and keep up to date with our RSS feed or Twitter account.

  • I always wanted to try Project 365, and I think if Daytum could help me track where I’ve taken the photos, it would be pretty interesting. Thanks!

  • My goals are to find more efficiency with my time and resources.

I run three businesses out of my home and a couple months ago, my girlfriend moved in. My general day-to-day life has shifted, for good reason, but it’s hurt my productivity. I need to take a hard look at what and where in my life I can improve and what needs cutting out, not just for business, but for my evolving personal life. I’ve read about Daytum before and I could really use these tools.

  • create influence where there is none. ;)

  • Manage to keep my desk clean.

  • About this time last year I decided to try and win something in 2009. Still going strong! If I’m successful it would certainly motivate me to try and win something again next year.

    • But on a serious note, I do use and love the GoalKeep iPhone app to track my positive habits: drinking plenty of water, eating and napping at normal intervals (I’m polyphasic), taking time to learn something new every day.

The chain-method is a very motivating approach to goal-keeping.

  • Get a better job

  • Finish my PhD (finally…), and run a marathon (also, finally)!

  • I resolve to procrastinate less. Daytum will help me see, in black and white, how many times a day I check geek websites for cool stuff like this!

  • I will stop procrastinating and stay focused!!

  • You can only improve what you measure and daytum helps provide that. Whether it be for a newyear’s resolution or not there’s a lot of possibility to really help people understand the impact of their actions and, as a result, how to improve.

  • Daytum will help me to better balance my personal goals and keep myself healthy.
It will also help me to get better results from my projects :www.goodnesstv.org

  • Go to 30 counties around the world, at 17 now!

  • I want to exercise more, and Daytum would be helpful to track it.

  • ok, many said it before: get healthier, then improve my career (probably by keeping track of the episodes of “two and a half men” i have to miss) and analyse more details of things happening in my life (think this could be really fun)

  • I need to allocate some time to learn a couple of new tricks, maybe modeling in Modo and/or sculpting in Mudbox. I hope this new year will see it acomplished. So keep track of how many hours destined to self-education would be a good idea.

  • I would like to keep my financial budget because I want to get married and have a family next year!

  • I’m not sure whether even Daytum can solve my problem with the mess I land up in year after year, but I’m willing to try and see if my life becomes smooth with this. Thanks for the offer.
