Giveaway

Our Billings Pro giveaway is now closed, and we’ve sent out our gift subscriptions to our 5 lucky winners. Thanks for entering, and stay tuned for more great giveaways in the future!

The season of giving continues here at AppStorm, as we’ve got yet another awesome giveaway for our readers. This time, we’ve got 5 one year individual subscriptions for Billings Pro with Marketcircle Cloud, the market-leading invoicing app for Macs and the cloud. For all of our readers that are looking to invoice more clients in 2012 than ever before, it just might be the thing you’ve needed.

We recently featured a review of Billings Pro’s cloud features, which let you keep up with your expenses and time from any browser, and then turn them into beautifully designed invoices back on your Mac. We then were able to interview Marketcircle’s CEO, AJ, about their unique approach to the cloud. The AppStorm team has been very impressed with Marketcircle’s work over the years, and we know you’ll enjoy using Billings Pro.

Billings Pro with Marketcircle Cloud usually costs $19/user/year, but 5 lucky winners can get a full year for themselves for free! To enter the contest, all you’ll need to do is leave a comment here to let us know how you’ll put Billings Pro to use next year if you win. You can get an extra entry if you tweet about the giveaway and leave a link to your tweet in the comments as well.

Our contest will close on December 26 at midnight CST, so hurry and get your entry in! And a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family from the AppStorm team!

Please Note: Envato staff or people who have written more than two articles or tutorials for AppStorm are ineligible to enter.

The world of web apps is over-saturated with project management apps. It often seems like the only new apps you hear about are new project management, time tracking, or invoicing apps. There’s only so many ways you can design an app for the same purpose, and so many project managers look like they were copied right from 37signals playbook. Then, the features different project management tools include vary widely, and they’re often designed more for large teams than freelancers.

Solo is a fresh new entry into the project management field that uses a drastically different approach. It’s a fully unique design, with modern, beautiful typography and charts that make the important parts of your work stand out. Plus, it’s designed from the ground-up for freelancers, so you won’t feel out of place working without other employees. Keep reading to see our review of Solo, and get a chance to win one of 5 year subscriptions for Solo!

Life is simply too short. By the time you’ve taken pictures to share on Instagram, tweeted about something someone said, checked-in your location on a dozen services, and added yet another friend on Facebook, you don’t have any time to actually enjoy what’s going on, much less really remember it yourself. Sometimes, it seems that we’re living a fake life just so we can share with others online.

A great way to do this is with a journal. Paper journals are nice, but they can be hard to keep up with. And digital journals can be difficult to use, and often don’t work on all of your devices. One of our favorite journal apps is Penzu, an online journal that’s beautiful and has a ton of awesome features to make journaling even easier.

Penzu is totally free, but it’s got some great extra features if you have a Pro account. With a Pro account, you can send in journal entries via email, see versions of your writing, go mobile with rich mobile apps, and more. It normally costs $19 a year, but we’ve got 3 free Pro accounts from the Penzu team for our readers.

Want to take advantage of Penzu’s best features? Just leave a comment here and let us know how you’ll put the extra Penzu Pro features to use. We’ll select 3 random comments as winners that can get a full Penzu Pro account for free!

Please Note: Envato staff or people who have written more than two articles or tutorials for AppStorm are ineligible to enter.

We’ll announce our winners after the contest is closed midnight Friday, October 7 (Update: Closing midnight Thursday, October 8 CST), 2011, so be sure to get your comments in quick. And as always, stay tuned for our future giveaways!

Our contest is now closed, and the winners are Lee, Jeff P, and creatix. Congrats! Thanks for commenting, and stay tuned for more giveaways in the future!

Whether you’re a freelance designer or a developer running a new startup, there’s one thing that’s always frustrating: billing. Sending out invoices and making sure their paid on time can be one of the more irritating tasks, especially when you’d rather be designing or coding an awesome new web app.

Blinksale is one of the most popular invoicing web apps. Unlike most invoicing apps, they only have one flat fee for unlimited invoices to unlimited clients. Then, with their new Blinkpay service, you can accept credit card payments directly without having to use PayPal or other payment systems. Just create your invoices, and Blinksale can take care of the rest.

We’ve reviewed Blinksale in the past, and had a chance to interview their team earlier this year. Now, we’ve got a special treat for our readers: 3 free Blinksale Unlimited subscriptions from the Blinksale team!

If you’d like to win one of the subscriptions, just follow @WebAppStorm and @Blinksale on Twitter, then tweet:
